Alex Turley

Asst Coach

A recent graduate of Averett University, he helped to create a legacy of wrestling excellence and academic achievement. After returning for a final semester in 2023, Coach Turley became a national qualifier, reaching the Round of 12 and claiming the ODAC title at 174 pounds. This capped a decorated career that included multiple All-American and All-State honors. Coach Turley also holds the win record and pin record (164, 128) as a 2x All-State wrestler for Thomas Dale HS. Coach Turley’s dominance extended beyond the mat. He balanced athletics with academics, earning the Dr. Tommy Foster Male Student-Athlete of the Year award and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

We have attended Coach Keel's camps for at least 4 years in a row. Its that good and we learn new things each time. Matt is great with kids, is an excellent communicator, and has a great sense of humor.

My son attended one of your camps...perhaps the most significant wrestling camp he has attended. He developed not only great leg riding ability, but great balance as well; he is like a "tick" on top, kids simply can't reverse him or get him out of legs. He now dominates kids that used to beat him. He is simply a much better wrestler.
